The digitization of society and proliferation of sensors are generating massive amounts of data reflecting human behavior. Such data are very different than those traditionally used in the social sciences, but are unique in their coverage, granularity, and variety. I will discuss the opportunities and challenges in extracting and interpreting information from such data, using in part examples from current CUSP research.
